In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, my latest article looks at the school's influence on architecture and urban planning in Chicago, and Detroit. The piece also examines some lesser known history about key players of the Bauhaus, including some perplexing aspects of the career trajectory of famed architect and furniture designer Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe.
